Monthly meeting about Wondering With Groningen — Attuning to Urban Rhythms and Affective Atmospheres.

Welcome to this experimental workshop, where playful collective wandering becomes a way of following the city’s invitation to attune to its affective atmospheres, rhythms, and encounters. The workshop draws inspiration from the facilitator’s ongoing doctoral research, which seeks to develop geography education by bringing together art-based methods, participatory experimentation, public urban space as a field of experimentation and non-representational thinking.

The workshop begins with a short theoretical attunement (approximately 15 minutes), followed by an improvised drift on foot through Groningen (approximately 45 minutes). Through playful hanging out, attention is directed towards the city’s rhythms, atmospheres, and unfolding encounters. Rather than pursuing a predetermined destination, the journey is approached as an open improvisation with the city, allowing its flows, distractions, surprises, and invitations to shape what emerges along the way.

The workshop concludes with an informal reflection session in a local bar, creating a space for sharing experiences, observations, and questions emerging from the experiment. The location of the gathering will be announced during the workshop.
